I think the author of the article is trying to give information to the general audience, not just you. Not everyone has a laptop let alone an hdmi cable.

This is stupid argument, consoles are supposed to only do one thing, play games, and thats it. If i want to roam the internet ill get walk ten ten yard and jump on a PC. This is like trying to say to McDonalds that serving just food isnt good enough, that they need to start selling shoes or something, If i want shoes, Ill go to the damn shoe store,

What’s the point of having a browser on a gaming console? People buy the 360 to play video games. If they need to search the internet Dell has some pretty cheap desktops and laptops for sell. That’s Sony’s problem, they pack all that unneeded junk into the PS3 and put the price out of everyone’s reach and now nobody wants to buy it.

I think it would be cool to have it only if it was a full browser. I own a ps3 and the only reason i dont use it very much is that it doesnt show the whole page at 1 time and the letters get blurry if you try to zoom in. If you have it zoomed out the letters are just too small. If the 360 had a nice browser it would be a great asset for the console. Personally i would rather sit on my sofa and surf the web than in my cold basement were my coputer currently resides.

That’s retarded!

Why would you want to connect your xbox 360 to the internet via ethernet cable so just you can browse on it. When I am sure a PC should be close by you because it’s connected to a router.

Unless 360 comes with a built in wi-fi, then that would be the reason to have internet browser.

Not many people would wanna waste £59 on a wireless router for 360:/

There is no good reason to have it. The one on my PS3 is terrible. Why browse on the console when you have a computer. Let the consoles do what they are supposed to do. I dont sit at home and browse the internet in my phone when the computer is right there. Stop begging half assed featured that take away from the point of the console. Why dont we just hook a hotplate the top and make it cook pancakes too.

The sole reason there is no Internet browser on the 360 is that they don’t want to cannabalize the pc IE market. MS wants you to use IE on your PC, and any attempt to bring it to the 360 would obviously degrade it’s performance/ features thereby tarnishing it’s image. One might suggest a third party or specialized 360 browser but that would take money put of MS pockets or detract from IE as the standard MS tries to solidify.
